nuclear thingys?

Yesterday I got the first response to my jobsearch, which is very exciting. It is for a full-time, two month technical writing contract (no technical experience required, thank goodness!). I think it would be a good opportunity, especially considering it pays almost $10 an hour more than anything else I've been looking at. They are going to forward my information to the company; the man I spoke to on the phone sounded very impressed by my resume. He contacted me within 24 hours of getting it, which is always a good sign. So I may be editing the mantainence manual for some kind of nuclear thingy. Exciting stuff, assuredly. From what I was told, I would basically be writing from a double copy with the engineers on-site for approval, so there doesn't seem to be a possibility that I could really mess it up. (I did automatically wonder if I screwed up whether things would explode somewhere down the line, but I think the chances are close to nil.) It pays well, but is on-site in Santa Clara, a suburb of San Jose (about a 8 hour drive from here), so I would have to find a temporary living situation up there. It seems like there always has to be some unnecessarily complicated travel involved in all of my decisions. That is also the city that my ex-boyfriend will be relocating to in Spring because his company has been "restructured." Right now he probably lives about a half an hour from there. I wonder what he will think about me moving up there for a while.

I also went to a jobfair yesterday that was put on by our local newspaper. I received a visor from our local indian casino.
