language teacher, anyone?

Soooo...I'm still unemployed. I've started to apply for jobs as a language teacher, ESL and Italian. I've gotten two call backs, which is heartening, but they both only want a tutor for 2 hours a week, which is disheartening. The first one was an advertisement from a tutoring company that specifically said they needed someone to teach Italian. The lady called me yesterday, and when I asked her how many hours, she said two, but eventually it may go as high as six hours a week, if they can generate interest. Apparently they have one family that wants a tutor for their kids before going on vacation. Also it turns out that it isn't even in San Diego, its in Escondido, which about thirty miles from my house. I declined. The second was just this morning, and it was to teach at an English school. From the website, it looked like they were looking for full time English instructors in different cities in Southern California. I get a message from a man with a really really strong Japanese accent saying that he is interested in hiring me as an English instructor. I call him back, all excited, and it turns out that he is looking for someone to tutor a high school boy in English for three hours a week. In Torrance. (For those of you unfamiliar w/ So. Cal., that's a suburb just south of Los Angelos--130 miles away from where I live.) I declined.
