Could things be looking up?

I am finally working, which I guess means that I have something to write about... Could xanthium's life actually be moving forward? I temping in the South Bay Area (a nice way of saying San Jose, as if it somehow means you are in the vicinity of San Francisco, instead of an imitation Orange County). I came up here a couple of weeks ago and am already working. I can't believe what a difference that it has made--there are actually jobs here. I started working the day after I went to the temp agency. I'm at a video game company, which is actually pretty cool, even if I am just the receptionist. The funny thing is, even as a temp receptionist, I am making more money than I was as a grad student. They are impressed that I can collate and alphabetize quickly, instead of making me feel bad for hating Freud. But it is dull. I've decided that with all the spare time that I have as a receptionist I'm going to work on some translation projects. I translated a novel a couple of years ago, but I think I am going to work on some short stories, because it is easier to start getting them published in magazines. I'm going to get some of my books when I go back to san diego this weekend. When I get back I'm going to see about finding an apartment. It seems that I may be getting back to my more energetic self.

I got to hang out with Di all last weekend, which was like a slumber party. I have also been spending time with Paddy, my ex-boyfriend. But more on that later.
