the din of dis

I am temping in an HR department for a large internet company (although not the "does no evil" Giaganto Inc that dissed me in January) for the next week and a half. I think human resources departments are some kind of papered purgatory, if not hell itself. At this large company, the department took up an entire floor...I can't even describe the cacophony of a hundred bubbly paper-pushers. Of course, they were very nice people, but I think if I were to ever work in HR seriously, I would go insane. A true, slow madness brought on by the endless onslaught of bits of paper that are completely innane yet somehow indispensible in a bureaucracy.

I have to admit, the fact that the company had a free expresso bar, was pretty cool. It would almost make it worth working in HR to have a free double latte every morning.
