I need a new clinic.

Because I am responsible, I went to the doctor to get birth control (although I am admittedly reluctant to get back on the pill for two reasons: 1. I smoke 2. It makes me weepy. So, I'm not really sure what to do and am thinking about a diaphram. Any suggestions, ladies?).

Anyway, since I have no insurance, I had to go to this awful clinic. I also had to request new documents when I checked in because they gave them to me in Spanish. They actually asked me if I had brought my latest pay stub, so I could prove that I was actually poor. Of course I didn't have one, and I wouldn't have given them it if I did. It took the doctor almost an hour to see me after my appointment time. Since they also had no parking lot, as I was waiting I kept having to go and move my car. Then, during my exam, the freaking stirrups on the table were broken, so I had to switch rooms. Granted I only had to go across the hall, but you try to do that in a paper shirt and sheet and then try to relax so your exam doesn't hurt too much. Good luck. The doctor was apologetic, but it really was awful. I wanted to talk about different birth control options, for the reasons I listed above, and they didn't have a copy of their info sheet in English. So I waited for them to get fax a copy from the other office. Unsurprisingly, they couldn't get the fax machine to work, I got it in Spanish, which I guess I can understand well enough. Then, because I didn't want to sign up for their program, they charged me almost $200 for a pap smear. So, I'm never going back, even though they tried to make up for it by giving me a big bag of candy colored condoms.
