going back to davis

Paddy and I are going to Davis this weekend, which I'm wierdly nervous about. I haven't been back there since before I went to graduate school and we were dating the first time. We're also going to see all these people who I haven't seen since then, either. So I'm back as his girlfriend, which is funny, because they all knew me as his girlfriend back then too. He says he wants me to come, so i'm coming. Besides, it should be fun, albeit a bit awkward at first--it should be what used to be a typical weekend for me: hanging out with people, drinking and smoking too much. I don't think I do that often enough anymore. One thing that is different, we're going to rent a hotel room instead of sleeping on people's couches and/or floors. Thankfully, we're we're beyond that--or at least, he is, because I haven't the money to pay for hotel rooms.
