weekend adventures

So, Davis hasn't changed (surprise, surprise).

The weekend was exhausting overall, but fun. It was actually the first time that we spent an entire weekend together; usually we go out one night and take a break from each other the next (we're both obsessed with our "space", but maybe you all don't need to know that much about our relationship). Anyways, we spent Friday night clubbing in the city. He finally introduced me to his fancy friends there (two sweet but very silly and superficial people really into house music and fine dining). It was supposed to be some sort of big event thing, but it wasn't well advertised so there weren't many people there, but the music was great. The club was new, huge, expensive and all decorated in white.

We stayed at a hotel in the city, then the next day we went to Davis. It was the same. I felt a little wierd seeing all these people that we used to know, but they all like me, so it wasn't awkward like I thought it would be. Paddy's best friend essentially took me aside and told me how great he thought I was for him. I have to admit that I miss being able to go out and see people that I know, like I was able to in Davis, and to a lesser extent in Montreal. We got a hotel there too (thankfully, since otherwise we would have been dragged to a "party" after the bar closed and had to sit around drinking PBR on someone's lawn--just like old times).

We went back to the city on Sunday so Paddy could look at apartments. I hung out nearby and bought some used books and some yarn at a really nice shop in Noe Valley (I was entreated by the guy to come back when I made my shawl because he loves show and tell). I can't remember when I've done this much in a single weekend.
