exercises in domesticity

I've been busy helping Paddy move into his new place in the city. Di teased me a little about us moving in together, which, really, considering that I "helped" him pick out his materass, bed, drapes and other assorted furnishings, is probably warranted. But we're not, at least for the forseeable future. So what if I keep his glasses in my purse when we go to dinner? He did bring up the other night that we will soon have been dating for six months. And he remembered the actual date. I can hear you all collectively retching, so I'll stop talking about it.

Anyways, enough about my boring domesticity. I'm making good progress on my grad school applications and should have all my documentation in on time. I do have to retake the GRE in a week, so I should study for it some more. I think my letters of rec are going to be really good. Even if grad school sucks, at least it is better than what I am doing now. The human resources lady at the place I'm working at today actually asked me if I knew how to make coffee (despite having just moved the giant travel mug of it that I brought with me out of the way). Irritating. Or the lady that took over the receptionist desk during my lunch break who said, "that's what they left you to read?!" after seeing my copy of the Economist. I told her it was mine and she said, "You mean you can actually understand what they're talking about in there?" I think she may have been genuinely impressed, or perhaps even horrified, which is more than mildly depressing. I did help a French person on the phone who was delighted at my pathetic attempts at speaking French, so that was kinda fun. But not that great.
