welcome to 2007
Another year has passed. I'm at work again, and it is lame. I'd rather be doing short-term temp, even though I make a little less money, so I may quit very soon. My grad school applications are all in, save one that is my backup school and not due until mid-month. I haven't done it yet. I've really gotten used to sending them overnight mail for ten times the price, so I imagine I will do that for this one too.
New Year's was interesting. I went to Di's house and we went to target. She bought a kareoke game for her playstation. We played for hours (I pity her poor mother who had to listen to our wailing). We (reluctantly) went to a party at 10:30 at her friend's house in Santa Rosa. Her friend had baby a year ago. She left him with his grandparents and so she was really excited to be able to get drunk. She kept talking about how she hadn't been drunk in two years, which was clearly too long, since she passed out at a quarter after twelve. Di had some wierd exchange with an annoying guy who keeps a copy of the little red book in his truck and sings Irish folksongs with a terrible accent. He ended up running through the backyard naked because he wanted her to spray him with the hose or something. All I know is that she shooed me into the house, then ran inside and told everyone at the party to go look at him. There was a big hubaloo as he ran around the neighborhood. Eventually he came back, which was really too bad.
I spent New Year's day with Paddy in the city. He came back from Ireland on New Years. Apparently he recieved three brown sweaters for Christmas, one from his mother and one from each of his sisters. I, at least, knit him a green one. I also got him cologne. He got me a cashmere scarf.
I spent Christmas in San Diego, which was uneventful, but nice. I got a (much needed) new laptop. It is very very exciting for me, because my old one was falling apart.
